When you head out in your car, the last thing you want or expect is to be stranded on the side of the road. But unfortunately this is always a possibility, so you need to be prepared ahead of time, just in case. Here are 10 simple things you should keep in your car for roadside emergencies:

1. Cell phone car charger (so you can use your phone to call for help)
2. Jumper cables
3. Spare tire and jack
4. Toolkit (including screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, etc.)
5. First aid kit (pain medicine, gloves, bandages, etc.)
6. Gas can
7. Cash (for buying gas or food)
8. Flashlight (with extra batteries)
9. Bottled water and snacks (in case it takes a while for help to arrive)
10. Fire extinguisher

Planning ahead by preparing these items can make a big difference should you ever find yourself in a roadside emergency situation.
